However, do remember that your body may react more sensitively to external influences during pregnancy and when breast-feeding. If you have any concerns about your personal tolerance, please consult your dermatologist.
Are ANNY products tested on animals?
"ANNY does not test any of its cosmetic products on animals*, nor does it commission the same. ANNY is against animal testing!
*This has been banned for decorative cosmetics since 1986 under the Law on Animal Welfare. It has applied to all finished cosmetic products since 1998. Since March 2011, the corresponding ban has been in force for raw materials for cosmetics – something that ANNY is very happy about!
According to this law, the tolerance of raw materials that are intended for use in cosmetics must not be tested on animals.
Raw materials that were developed for cosmetics before this time have not necessarily been tested on animals. However, some of them have been tested in-vivo (tests on animals).
In order to test all raw materials in so-called in-vitro tests in future (tested in a test tube), these procedures are constantly being further developed and new methods explored.
ANNY is not aware that the raw materials used in the products have been tested in-vivo. In order to keep intolerances to a minimum ANNY carries out its own application or patch tests (epicutaneous tests) to establish the local tolerance of a product.
Questions regarding the application
What is the best way to prepare my natural nails for nail polish?
First of all, file the natural nails to the desired length with an ANNY nail file. Natural nails should not be cut with scissors, since cutting them damages the keratin layer at the tip of the nails and makes them split. The nails should be completely free from skin flakes, nail polish, grease, and dust in order for the nail polish to adhere well. This is easy to achieve with ANNY's acetone-free nail polish remover. Also, be careful not to apply nail polish directly after cleaning or after a nail bath, since the nails store water and this could impair the durability of the nail polish.
Why should I use a base coat?
The base coat is the base for the nail polish, and protects both natural and artificial nails against discolorations. The base coat should be at least partly dry before you apply the colored polish.
What is the correct way to apply nail polish?
Nail polish should be applied with calm, smooth brush strokes. First apply a thin, even layer of color to the sides of the nail, and then to the middle. Then draw the brush from one side of the tip to the other to seal it. Once the first layer of polish is dry, a second layer of color can be applied to cover any unevenness and achieve a more intensive color result.
Why should I use a top coat?
A top coat will help a manicure to last longer, and prevents signs of wear such as scratches. It will also freshen the color and lends a brilliant gloss when applied between two layers of color.
When is nail polish dry?
The thinner and more evenly the layers of nail polish are applied, the better it will dry. It is important to be patient. The first coat must be allowed to dry for between 3-5 minutes before the second one is applied. The nail polish is completely dry after approx. 10-15 minutes.
Why does nail polish flake at the tips?
The better the structure of the natural nail, the longer the nail polish will last at the tips. If the nail keratin splits, harmful environmental influences such as chemical cleaning products and so on may be able to penetrate the nail. This will affect the durability of the nail polish. Flaking can be prevented by sealing the nail polish and using a base and top coat.
How long do ANNY nail polishes last on the nails?
As a general rule, ANNY nail polishes will last for an average of 7 days. However, this depends on the texture of the nails, and also on the type of nail polish. Special polishes such as sand and glitter polishes usually last longer than normal ones.
How do I remove effect polishes such as sand and glitter polishes?
A cotton cloth or (exfoliating) cotton pads are perfect for this. First of all, cut the cloth/cotton pad into pieces that will cover all the nails. Then soak them in ANNY acetone-free nail polish remover, put them on the nails, and wrap aluminum foil around the tips of the nails. After about 3 minutes, even the most stubborn nail polish will be gone.
What can I do about damaged or thin nails?
The use of special ANNY-nourishing products, such as for example the ANNY-nail oil or the ANNY green tea millionaire's beauty butter, helps damaged and thin nails regenerate. Important note: Do not use any nourishing products immediately prior to application with the LED ONE STEP READY as this impacts the durability.

Thin, splintered or very fatty nails may also negatively impact the durability. In order for LED ONE STEP READY-nail polishes to adhere properly the nails must be free of grease, dust and nail polish remnants.
